Shenzhen Universiade

The 26th Summer Universiade was certified to the city of Shenzhen at the FISU Executive Committee gathering preceding to the 2007 Winter Universiade in Torino, Italy. The idea of a modern city holds grand sport games of youth at last came true. Shenzhen succeeded in its first request to host  intercontinental sport games.
It will host the Universiade in 2011 from the 8th of August till the 18th of August. The program of the 2011 Shenzhen Universiade consists of a total of 24 sports: badminton, beach volleyball, football, cycling, gymnastics (aerobics, artistic, rhythmic), golf, judo, swimming, water polo, volleyball, chess, fencing, weightlifting, taekwondo, ect. In the forecasts Shenzhen Universiade 2011 will catch the attention of almost  14,000 university student athletes from 120 countries and regions who will contend for more then 300 gold medals in 294 competitions.
